No one does it quite like Diana.
England has talked up the Kate and William wedding. In truth, the public expected extravagance, something to wow over, instead Kate turned up in a understated dress with a modest train. That was a shame really since she had so much potential. She though did as she wanted. It is true that those in fashion circles are talking about "the dress" but in reality, it was nothing spectacular. Today, I thought we would feature Princess Diana, the a real princess and someone who knew how to rock the party with a fabulous dress that still amazes us to this day. Those of us who were present during Diana's era knew exactly how much the public showered their adoration upon her. Apart from her ring, she was largely absent in yesterday's wedding.
Had Diana been around yesterday, she would have placed her own finishing touches on her daughter in law and shown her how the party should be started. It wouldn't have included a recession style train and a style that was simply cut and pasted from Princess Grace of Monaco.
Nevertheless, we all wish Wills and Kate well. The Aston Martin borrowed from dad's garage was the best bit out of the entire wedding. While the British media talk up this wedding for their own commercial reasons, the rest of the world remains disappointed that we did not see the spectacular wedding dress that we had all expected.
